I’m thrilled to finally sit down and share a piece of my world with all of you. My name is Allison Brown, and I’m so grateful to have you here on this exciting journey with me. As we embark on this skincare adventure together, I thought it was high time I properly introduced myself and gave you a sneak peek into my life.
Home Sweet Home
I call the charming town of Ankeny, IA my home, where life for me is a beautiful blend of family, work, and, of course, our lovable chaos-provider – a 9-month-old German Wirehaired Pointer puppy named Luca. My life is truly enriched by my husband, Jonathon, and our two incredible children, ages 10 and 6. Every day brings its own set of delightful challenges and heartwarming moments, reminding me of the preciousness of life’s simplest joys. My job as a mother is truly my life’s greatest joy.
A Humble Beginning
Back in 2017, I dipped my toes into the entrepreneurial waters with the creation of “You Turn.” At that time, it was just a small side hustle, an avenue to channel my creativity and earn a little extra income. Little did I know that this modest beginning would evolve into a thriving business that would touch lives and make a real impact.
The journey wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. We faced our fair share of hurdles, from staff restructuring to trial-and-error moments that sometimes felt like painful growing pains. But each challenge was a lesson, each setback a stepping stone towards growth. With sheer determination, the business started to take its own shape and flourish.
A Heartfelt Mission
Contrary to what you might think, You Turn wasn’t born out of vanity or a fleeting desire for recognition. My journey began with the intention to build confidence and address insecurities, both in myself and in others. With a background in acute medicine and a continued commitment to practicing medicine two days a week, I’ve always been driven by a passion to help people – to make a difference, no matter how small.
Skincare, to me, is more than skin deep. It’s about nurturing the largest organ of our body and, in turn, nurturing our self-esteem and overall well-being. Guiding others towards proper skincare practices and helping them identify the services that align with their skincare goals has become my passion and purpose. It’s incredible how something as seemingly mundane as skincare can lead to empowerment and self-discovery.
Connecting Along the Way
The journey thus far has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve had the privilege of connecting with incredible individuals who have shared their stories, struggles, and triumphs with me. This sense of community, of people coming together to support and uplift one another, is what makes this journey so special.
And now, as we find ourselves in yet another phase of re-organization, I am filled with anticipation for what lies ahead. Change is the catalyst for growth, and I’m excited to witness how our path unfolds as we adapt, evolve, and reach new horizons.
